Being in an opposite relationship with someone or something creates tension. Contrast and confrontation are not comfortable, and as I gazed upon last night’s hunter’s moon in Aries, what I once romanticized as a planetary dance of synchronous connection, revealed to me that projection of another’s energy can just as well create war.
When was the last time you approached, or were approached with blame, accusation, aggression, creating an ongoing conflict, waxing and waning like phases of our celestial moon?
Last year, a wise woman told me, when you point your finger at someone else, it always points back to you.
Ouch. Discomfort— where in the body do you feel the resistance to taking responsibility for what upsets you? I feel it in my stomach, a kind of knot in the center under my sternum.
Wait—for every belief that it’s their fault, there is something to be known within me?
This is the powerful opportunity to see clearly what has been hidden, orbiting in shadow, unseen until—someone else moves our direction and blasts that energetic fuel straight at us in perfect alignment. Yes, this is it, opening our eyes, to see ourselves so exposed. What can we find in this moment where watery emotion and warrior’s fire meet?
Ridgelines
orange sun sinking
western mountains
full moon rising
heavy eastern clouds
I saw anew
relationship
between two
where once
brightness meant
connection
this is illumination
by opposition
face off
your light burns
upon craters
softens rock
turns gray
translucent
golden
when it meets
like this—
spanning distance.
Is this not the place
for transformation?
To stand direct
before each other
seeing
what could not
be seen
any other way.
